Poem: O Star of Hope!

                                        O Star of Hope!

In the stillness of a winter's night,

A star shines bright, a guiding light.

Amidst the shadows of war's cruel hand,

It whispers peace across the land.

Through the echoes of conflict, a message clear,

The Christmas Star brings hope, drawing near.

In the hearts of the weary, it ignites a flame,

Reminding us all, we are not the same.

Political tensions may rise and fall,

But love's gentle call transcends it all.

For in the darkness, where despair may creep,

The star's soft glow stirs dreams from sleep.

Let us gather beneath its radiant glow,

Embracing the warmth that we all long to know.

For every soldier, every child in fear,

The Christmas Star shines, its promise sincere.

So, as we celebrate this season of grace,

May we find unity in our shared human space.

With hope as our compass, let kindness impart,

The enduring message of the Christmas Star.

In the context of the war in Palestine and Israel, and in many parts of the world there exists political turmoil, we have a star shining bright, giving us hope. It means praying not only for peace but also for the courage to be instruments of that peace and hope. We are reminded of Pope Francis’ words: “Peace is not merely the absence of war but a work of justice” (Evangelii Gaudium, 218).

This holy night also reminds us that darkness does not have the final word. The Gospel of John declares, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5). Even in the face of war and turmoil, the birth of Christ assures us that God’s light cannot be extinguished. This light is not just an abstract concept, but a living reality embodied in every act of love, mercy, and forgiveness.

Let His Legacy Thrive

Let His Legacy Thrive

In our land, where rivers flow,
To us all, his spirit whispers,
guiding us to grow.
Ahimsa, the path of peace we tread,
In every act, his teachings spread.

Truth, our beacon, in shadows it gleams,
Uniting our voices, igniting our dreams.
Let non-violence be our steadfast creed,
We rise against hatred, plant love's seed.

In our land of chaos, where greed takes its toll,
At this time, it’s the call
Compassion and service can heal the soul.
Empowering the weak, uplifting the poor,
Gandhi's vision calls us to open the door.

Equality and fraternity, treasures we seek,
In every small gesture, let our hearts speak.
As we walk together on this sacred land,
Gandhian values guide us, hand in hand.

In treating men and women alike, let his legacy thrive,
For in love and truth, we truly arrive.

Poem: AN ODE TO WOMEN OF SHAHEEN BAGH

AN ODE TO WOMEN OF SHAHEEN BAGH

TRULY, YOU ARE WOMEN, WOMEN OF COURAGE

Women of Courage, women of Strength,
Women of Confidence and  dedication.
Mothers of children with spirits so strong
Who may have unbridled imaginations.
Cries of freedom- Inquilab Zindabad
Or they sing - Hum honge kaamyaab
Reached the ends of the earth to imitate.
Truly, you are women, women of courage

They are Indians, towers of strength.
They are women who put nation first in life
Women who are seen and heard
Whose strength and whose courage comes from above,
Whether they're mothers; or loving sisters,
Care for none of the ruling supremacy
It's plain to see love for nation shining through them.
Truly, you are women, women of courage.

 “I would rather die here,
than perish in a detention camp.”
Words of courage, words so sincere,
Sitting with placards denouncing,
the Centre’s Citizenship (Amendment) Act,
Women whose spirits are battered by pain,
But God is their strength and courage
Truly, you are women, women of courage

Poem: Shine On, Star of Bethlehem

Shine On, Star of Bethlehem

Is that a star
that steady-moving light
or pseudo-star  projecting  stars
of stage and screen
to entertain and titillate
consumption-weary   minds?
Is that a star?

Is that an angel
that soft seductive  voice
promising  bliss -    sun and blue sky,
a top-range  car, fortune (it could be me!)
paradise -    and at such little cost?
Is that an angel?

The star shines clear
above a shelter on a city street
where lies a child caught in a web
of poverty,  helpless  and innocent
victim of powerful  people's  greed.
There shines the star.

The angel speaks
to workers  in the fields
(or in the kitchens  of the noisy inn)
bringing  news of peace on earth
with justice  and goodwill  to humankind.
There  speaks the angel.

God of the real,  the true,
speak through your living Word
and show us how
to see the artificial  for itself
and in today's  real world
to recognize  the angel and the star.

Poem: Tree of Friendship

Tree of Friendship

Friendship is a beautiful tree!
lts beauty  comes natural,  and  free
From any blab being or greed,
Must be savored as a rare treat.
It has a root so strong and deep,
Goes way down for hundreds of feet
In the ground: It is mutual trust
And respect, never to be cussed.
It has bundles of splendid leaves
so green!  They make   a spread that weaves
Into a net.  It’s the many
hours  of comradeship  friends   enjoy.
It may   even quietly blossom!
Flowers though   hidden,   yet handsome
And fragrant;    they radiate   such love
only friends   can  truly   approve.
Like any   other tree it needs
Sunshine and water   to give seeds.
They are the smiles,   grin and laughter
Shared by friends   with one another!
This Beautiful TREE OF FRIENDSHIP
Is yours and mine to keep and sip
The moment we fail to take care,
It will vanish into the thin air.

Poem : And This is What I Felt...

And This is What I Felt…

Thousands pass by me day after day;
And yet I never knew
What it really meant
Joy and cheer in real life despair.
And this is what I felt;
When someone had none
To care.

I stand still and wonder
How people survive, I do not notice them;
Oh! Pain and pain; struggles and struggles;
Just I turn my face from reality.
And this is what I felt;
“Do something or else pain continues
Out of my mediocrity”.

What can I? How can I?
They have scars of empty promises.
To heal them I need to heal the blotches in me;
That have caused by my weakness.
And this is what I felt;
I can; Yes, I can!
If He abides in my impuissance.

Poem: My Land

This Land of Mine

The land that I love and call mine
Is stretched across a continent
Like a majestic carpet
Enclosed by power of the divine!

I’m so proud to be a part of this land
Giving and taking
So active and generous;
Inhabitants  across the globe know the truth
This land is sign of universal brotherhood.

This nation with roots of honesty and truth
Trusts in God, like ocean deep and mountain high.
Beauty of life found in this land
Folks and tales are found in every sand.

Men and women in every sphere
Leave an impact with fortitude;
Generations will remember and profess
This land of mine will have always a happy face.

I find my life with purpose and meaning
More than you possibly know
From my birth till my death
I would catch every glimpse of
What I do and where I go.

I was born to pious parents
Taught me gently how to pray.
Took every step with me
Held me before I stumble
Taught me never to tremble and to be humble,
They formed me to be ever Thine.

I feel sad, I feel happy, I feel strong and I feel weak
But always content with joy of His.
As I gaze into the past
And those who have left their footprints,
Are sailing with me on the boat of life
Giving me assurance that we shall never sink.

I want to die, surely not in accident
Where I am just forgotten.
I will walk on those roads
Where no one dared to tread
And build my life to create wonderful moments.

This life is of course! Precious and special,
Every minute I long to see an angel!
And with pure determination and strength
Soar like a seagull.

Monsoon, you, O monsoon,
Why do you desert us so soon?

Each day was greeted with your shower,
Leave us in the hot sun never.

Last summer you taught us your worth,
We welcomed you with heartfelt mirth.

You weren’t active this year too,
I know, you are sad for what we do.

Monsoon, you, O monsoon, do not leave us so soon,
I’ll think of you morning, evening and noon.

Poem: Farewell My Friend

Farewell My Friend

Image result for farewell

How much I miss you
Words cannot define.
They are too less
For the love of mine.

You gave me comfort
In times of trial and temptation
You corrected me when I was wrong
But, your affection and encouragement
always made me strong

The preciousness of life I feel
All because of you.
You showed me both
Success and failure
Above all the care and happiness.

Now time has come to us to depart
But the memories will always
Blossom in my heart.

Thanks for bestowing such
Special moments in my heart
I pray that you be at the greatest height
It is the farewell wish
Of my sincere heart.

Morning so bright,
With new life and cheer.
In whispers of heart
I hear His word
To love Him and serve Him
After His own example.

To find a new friend
Who is in need.
To love
Who is in need of it.
To think a positive thought
Of the one whom I always spurn.

Lonely I sit
In moments of grief
No thought, no word.
To pen down my mood
I looked for a page
I found a saying
“Lonely be your best friend”.

Thank you my friend
For time so sweet.
No thought of mine
Will flow in line
Unless you be in my heart.

My heart so large
To be at you.
Leave me never
For I liked your company
So quiet and soothing
To the heart of mine.

Poem on Nature

Save the Wonder

Image result for beautiful nature

I see the wonder of the universe;
The stars, the moon, the sun, the heaven above.
I see his handwork, the earth below;
The hill above the plain below, the mountain top.

I see the grandeur of the universe;
The wind, the wave, the mist and train of seasons all.
Behold the waters of the ocean wide;
The fish around, the stone beneath and plants inside.

I see the splendor of the universe;
The beasts, the birds, the plants, the grass with life.
Lo! the colours of the flowers so bright;
The leaf aloft, the bloom so crowned, the seeds afar.

I see the gender of the human race;
His likeness He gave them from His throne on high
That’s the incarnation wrought by Him
In the person of the Trinity, my Lord and God.

It’s a land of beauty, glory of God
His gift to all with unceasing love
Not only for me and you
Just keep it for your children too.

We the people of great ignorance
Never we know the importance
Its not alone in having the possession
But preserving and never leaving it forsaken.

Stop! Stop! I cry
It’s the time we need to contemplate
Don’t you see the inhuman ways
Use and use but never abuse.

What it needs is a little care
Your simple thought for its tend
Change your mind, your attitude
To maintain its every latitude.
