AN ODE TO WOMEN OF SHAHEEN BAGH

TRULY, YOU ARE WOMEN, WOMEN OF COURAGE

Women of Courage, women of Strength,

Women of Confidence and  dedication.

Mothers of children with spirits so strong

Who may have unbridled imaginations.

Cries of freedom- Inquilab Zindabad

Or they sing - Hum honge kaamyaab

Reached the ends of the earth to imitate.

Truly, you are women, women of courage

They are Indians, towers of strength.

They are women who put nation first in life

Women who are seen and heard

Whose strength and whose courage comes from above,

Whether they're mothers; or loving sisters,

Care for none of the ruling supremacy

It's plain to see love for nation shining through them.

Truly, you are women, women of courage.

 “I would rather die here,

than perish in a detention camp.”

Words of courage, words so sincere,

Sitting with placards denouncing,

the Centre’s Citizenship (Amendment) Act,

Women whose spirits are battered by pain,

But God is their strength and courage

Truly, you are women, women of courage
